Songs for Senators

There’s been a recent trend on Tik Tok where content creators go around asking people on the streets what they’re listening to. We saw that idea, and we knew that there had to be a McMahon version asking students and staff. We started off by interviewing English Teacher Ms. Ripegno. The last thing she was listening to Waiting room by Rex Orange County. Then we asked her what her favorite album of all time was, and she stated that The Life of Pablo by Kanye West was her number one.

After wandering around for a bit, we found one of our fellow senators, senior Wade Ceres. During our interview, Wade was listening to Scrub by Sleepy Hollow. When we asked Wade what his favorite album of all time was he said that Ready to Die by The Notorious B.I.G was his top pick. We squeezed in one more question and asked what his favorite artist at the moment was and he said that A Boogie wit da Hoodie.

After the Wade interview, we trekked upstairs and stumbled upon Nick Gyasi-Twum, a current senior and football player. We asked Nick what the last thing he listened to was and he said Energy by Drake. We also asked Nick what his favorite artist of all time was and he stated Kanye West. His favorite album of all time was Graduation by Kanye West which I have strong opinions about since this is also my favorite album of all time.

As soon as Nick had left, we found ourselves interviewing another senator, Adiel Avalos, who was very excited about our interview. When we asked what the last thing he was listening to he said Once an addict (interlude) by J. Cole. Our follow-up question was what was his favorite album of all time and Adiel stated that 4 Your Eyes Only by J. Cole was his top pick.

When walking down McMahon’s hallways, you never know what any fellow senator is listening to. We’re thrilled to bring these senators’ songs to the public, so you guys can try out some new music. It really showed us that not everyone listens to the same music. While working on this article, I was listening to A star was born by Jay Z and J. Cole, and the whole album of Cole World The Sideline Story by J. Cole.
