Device regulation should be regulated in order to protect teens. I believe that devices should be regulated. I feel like devices have a very big impact on mostly kids and teens in today’s generation. Kids nowadays are more interested in going on their iPads, phones, video game consoles, etc than going outside and spending time with their loved ones. The same can be said for teens more interested in their phones, video game consoles, etc than spending time and doing something productive. This problem has increased and became worse over the years. A survey by Common Sense Media in 2021 showed a 17 percent increase in screen use among teens and tweens in the previous two years — more than in the four years prior — as well as the fact that kids as young as 8 were using social media more than ever. Devices could also have a major role in your mental and physical health. Being on the bed while scrolling on your phone could mess with your sleep, and affect the next day which could make you feel tired, lazy, bored, resulting in you going on your phone and scrolling for hours again which would lead to a cycle. Devices could also lead to anxiety, depression, and irritability when removed from devices, by creating social comparison, disruption in sleep, increase in isolation, and FOMO(Fear Of Missing Out). NIH (National Institute Health) say Constant alerts and content can reduce attention spans and critical thinking. Overall device regulation I believe, especially in this point of time, is very crucial due to devices affecting everyone
