Recap: Girls Field Hockey Win Against St. Joes
Our own senators beat St. Joes in a 2-0 win, even on their senior night!
This past Wednesday the Field Hockey girls had a 2-0 win against the Cadets. Speaking to Maren Gilchrist (Number 1), who scored both goals expressed her thoughts from the game. “Although we won, it didn’t feel like a win…We had a rocky start with 0-0 in the first quarter. However we reflected off the Cadets plays when we know we can achieve so much more.”
In the second quarter things started to pick up. Jade Marin assisted Maren’s goal on a corner play. At halftime, with 1-0 McMahon, Maren explained the team still expected more from themselves. “While talking at halftime, we realized we should have scored 4 goals already.” Regardless of how the team felt, we continued to work hard throughout the game, in the third quarter Aubree Brasher passed to Maren Gilchrist, who then executed a goal off the bottom left post. leading off of a corner play.
With the ending score being 2-0 and what is said “Candits held possession” the team continued to feel underwhelmed. McMahon ended the game with no goals scored by St. Joes, girls taking the win, with no sympathy whether it was St. Joe’s senior night or not.
