Hello, my name is Jacob Jones, and I am a senior at Brien McMahon High School. Sports are a big part of my life. I’ve always loved playing and watching sports, not just because of the competition, but also because of the energy, teamwork, and fun that come with every game. Being on the court or track has taught me a lot about working hard, staying focused, and never giving up even when things get tough. I want my writing to bring readers into that experience and show them why sports are more than just wins and losses—they’re about building connections, growing as a person, and enjoying the game. For me, sports are a way to bring people together, and I hope to bring that same energy to the newspaper.
