Class of 2028, you are now freshmen at BMHS, where your dreams and future start. We are happy to welcome you to our school. This year can be your easiest or hardest, but that’s all up to you. Let’s try and make it one of your most memorable high school years to come.
What to expect:
As a freshman, you should understand that the expectations are higher than in middle school. Schoolwork is harder, teachers have less patience, and it’s all on you. This means there is no more: “Oh Mom can you email my history teacher? ”
You as a high school student should learn to advocate for yourself and ask for help, ask to stay after class or whatever you may need. Know that all of your teachers are there for you and will take time to make sure you are successful in their class. So don’t be afraid.
Knowing your guidance counselor and sitting down with them and talking about your classes and any other problems or questions you may have can be very helpful. So reach out and find who yours is as soon as possible.
This year you’re going to get a small glimpse of high school life, and we assure you it’s not like the movies at all. It can be a real headache sometimes so make sure you stay on top of your assignments and sports or clubs you may be in or on.
